The eldest child of the Danbeyras and Nezamin union, Anika was always a bright, kind and able daughter. Dedicated to both her parents and quite loving to her sister and relatives, everyone came to adore this first fruit of the political union. Even from a young age she displayed great amounts of sincere consideration and courtesy. Combined with her wealthy and noble ancestry, these traits help her ingratiate herself to others of the nobility. She suffered much in the year of both her mother and father’s deaths, but found comfort in the arms and house of her legal aunt, Alaya Danbeyras. Alaya loved Anika even more than most and so was delighted to take the young woman in and teach her the ways of the nobility. Though she was sad Arabella chose to live instead with their blood uncle Clement, Anika revelled in the lessons she was taught by her aunt. These included how to read and write, bits and pieces about the nature of the world as well as the fine arts of persuasion and “intellectual” conversation. Very knowledgeable and capable she may be, but Anika still has a certain naivety when it comes to much of the world, seeing few hard and terrible things. This also leads to her being fairly timid, though when she is able to summon up her courage she performs even better than some of the bravest of folk. She also has used some of her large familial wealth to make wise purchases, such as medicines to help with the curing of wounds.
